Park & Ride Site Improvements
Overview
You’re invited to tell us what you think about proposed improvements to the Park & Ride sites in York.
York’s buses are benefitting from £17.3m of government funding, under a Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). Across the whole of York, we’re using this money to deliver a range of improvements, from bus priority measures to new shelters, seating and lighting. We now want your views on our proposals to improve five of the six Park & Ride sites.
We are very keen to hear as many people’s views as possible, whether you currently use the Park & Ride or not, and how we can encourage greater use by improving the facilities offered on site.
In particular we’re keen to hear views about introducing overnight parking at Rawcliffe Bar and Askham Bar. If we do introduce it, overnight stays would be paid for, but daytime parking at all sites will remain free.
Please note, this consultation talks about site improvements only, not bus services themselves.
Why your views matter
York’s new Local Transport Strategy (LTS) aims to deliver a more accessible, more affordable and more sustainable city, offering greater opportunities no matter how we travel. This consultation seeks to understand how we can encourage greater use of the Park & Ride sites to help deliver our wider LTS.
