Hamilton Drive Safer Neighbourhoods
Overview
We’re inviting residents, businesses, and stakeholders on and around Hamilton Drive to talk to us about proposed changes to the highway aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and the overall feel of the area.
These ideas are based on concerns raised locally, and we want to make sure the final design reflects what you think will work best.
What We’re Proposing
Our early ideas focus on making Hamilton Drive and Hamilton Drive East safer and easier to use - whether you walk, cycle, or live on the street.
The proposed changes focus on the creation of a safer school zone, which feels completely different to the surrounding road network, and introducing measures designed to reduce traffic speed and improve safety at crossing points.
These proposals are not final. They are a starting point, shaped by local concerns about safety at the school entrance, speed of traffic, and the difficulty of crossing the road at key points. Your comments will directly influence what happens next.
What Happens Next
We will use your feedback to shape the scheme before we seek approval to advertise any associated traffic regulation orders and begin detailed design. If successful we hope to construct in Summer 2027.
